So we got this SSgt here at Wright-Patt, relatively new (and cross-training soon...possibly OSI) working in one of our switches. He had a few of the troops fresh out of tech school come by his place on a Friday night and decided to fix them drinks out of his kitchen (no big deal right!?!) Somehow from there, he decides that this is going to be a Dawg call and that they are drinking for their dawg coins. So they drank it and got coins. No canons we're read, none of the other 20 something Dawgs from base we're there. Just him and the newbies. Now myself and some of the others here want to address this unlawful act but don't know how and so I am looking out for any help I can get from you all thanks!!!!

i agree with slog.....we should honor our traditions because that is what makes us who we are! i busted my @$$ in kuwait in the middle of summer every day from sun up to sun down and was given my coin because i was a female who wouldnt get any recognition when the other male (not all) DAWGS did nothing in that tour and i knew my work and showed i knew my job! busting my @$$ with cable DAWGS as well as busting my @$$ doing my wire work.....short round gave me my coin for all my work as wire and going above and beyond helping out cable with her. the one who broke the rules and our traditions all i have to say is disrespect to the ones who TRULY earned their coin and to the whole entire kennel.

Definitley agree with Slog. I earned mine after busting my @$$ at work for months. Then, they tie-wrapped and taped me to a chair and made me drink everytime i stuttered when trying to say the cable dawg creed. Give it, that was when i was learning it too! All and all, it was awesome, and wouldnt trade it for anything. As far as that guy at WPAFB, repercussions should definitely be followed up on.

whoa whoa whoa.. Let me get this straight..
your Senior Dawg?

not asking for names but i dont think you even know who teh Sr. Dawg even is here. Because i spoke with him about it and he is pretty ******ed that the fact that someone new to our kennel would even have the right to give new troop there coin. With no Cannons being read, no one invited, and more then likely given him the cheap coins.

Being here for almost 4 years now, NOT ONCE has a Dawg Call even been mentioned to a commander nor has it ever been told to us that we can not have them.

So with that being said, do some research and find out who your Sr. Dawg is before accepting advise from there, because they led you wrong.

Well, in that case, there could have been a little planning and prep work and maybe some invites to the rest of the kennel. But you got your side of the story out there and if 'Big Dawg" authorized it I guess I can't say much. Other than it could have been a bigger event for the younger troops with their already cristened dawgs.

If all of you are going to try and redicule me on wiredawg.net... at least get the FACTS straight and the entire story MUZIK526. I know the tradition and the canons. I will openly admit to break protocol and was forced to improvise the tradition. I was advised by my senior dawg to do this on my own. I repeatedly requested a proper dawg call and none of the seniors really pushed for it due to no one wanting to host. I've been told of why that was and how a commander banned such a tradition due to uncontrollable behavior. After much patience, my senior dawg advised me to throw my own 'dawg call' for my troop. It wasn't on Friday, nor was it at my house. So scold me if you want, the punishment is worth my troop getting what's rightfully earned!

Throw him to the dawgs.

But in all reality, ask Chuck Fikes.

'Tis a shame. . .

Let Judge Slog rule if creeds were violated. He is the most dedicated, honest Wire Dawg I know (except for Ihnk). If the creed (not that USAF Crap Creed, but the Dawg Creed) was violated, then throw him to the Data Nerds, or hell (2E2's). Hey Slog, I still beat ya at poker during the last 15 hour Dawg Call!!

Hey, how about a World Wide Dawg Call on 16 Oct 09, and post the pics in a special folder here called the Last Days of the Dawg.? That gives us 2 weeks to recover before we become Cyber Desk Dawgs...???

HUUUUGGGEEEEE act of disrespect to the Kennel. I want to be a dick about it, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he didn't know the proper way to handle a Dawg Call, in which case, his Sr. Dawgs are to blame, (and since you're at WPAFB, Dawgs like Mr. Fikes definitely know how things should've gone down and I'm personally upset that he wasn't involved in the induction of new Dawgs) but if the offender did know better, then I would NEVER acknowledge his coin again. Dawg coins are a big deal and with 3DXXX basically killing us off, we MUST make sure that all he those currently known as WIRE DAWGS uphold all traditions as long as we possibly can!!! I hope he does cross train and PLEASE explain to the new 'Pups' that the way he went about it was wrong and how it should go down. I wouldn't make them earn their coins again, b/c we all know how tough that is, but actions must be taken. I don't suppose you care to identify said offender?? B/C he needs to take heat for this for years to come!!! WIRE by choice, DAWG for life!!!

Respectfully, Slog

WIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would say take him out and tar and feather him... Well, duct tape him to a chair and let the condiments flow. Then leave him out in the parking lot for a couple of hours. Or in a bathroom or something. Either way, that is not acceptable and must be brought to the "Big Dawg" of the unit. So whoever is the ranking Wire Dawg needs to act on this but you can always throw in suggestions. Then properly innitiate the newbies... if they deserve it. A dawg coin is a big deal, and they need to realize that this has to go through the Dawg chain to get approval. Sucks to be them, but rules have to be followed.
