Wire Dawg history question

I am an amateur military researcher. I am looking for information regarding exactly which Communication Squadrons were associated with the 5th Air Force during the Korea and Vietnam conflicts.

Also, what is the history behind the "Wire Dawg" bulldog mascot/emblem? When was it developed/adopted?

Thanks,
Ronnie aka datikiman

As for the mascot; it was drawn back in 89 by a TSgt Type assigned to OSAN back then. I think he was a Cable Plant Dawg. It's a blurr. It went through a few changes adding butt sets, cables, etc. He was orgianlly a MSgt with the old stripes, but has since changed. The emblem then made it's way to the break room of the E&I SQ at Kelly soon after that. Hope this helps.
