Where is the Antenna shop at Elmendorf?

In 1989, the Cable/Antenna shop was in the basement of Billetin. Well, our shop was found to be "hot" with asbestos, so we had to move.
We moved shop to the transmitter site on Ft. Rich. There was a storage room on the back side of it, toward the North, I believe. This is where we spent countless hours framing and putting up sheet rock. Finally, it was home. I just wonder if the shop is still there. I know all of the antennas are, I've seen them on aerial photos... that was too cool.
Looks like all of base housing has been rebuilt. They was starting on it when I left in '91. I sure miss it!

The Cable shop was in the basement of billeting. In late 2000/early 2001 the Antenna shop moved from Ft Rich into the basement of billeting. When I left in 2002 the civilians had taken over and shared an office with the telephone troops.

It's at the DCO. It's all civil service now. Two men take care of all the antennas throughout Alaska and help with Cable jobs too! Andy Zeigler is the head honcho up there now. Give him a ring for future positions. 907-552-7100
