This position is responsible for all aspects of service provisioning, installation and maintenance of FDN products and equipment used to deploy such products. Qualified candidates should have a detailed knowledge and field experience with customer premise equipment, channel banks, T1 fundamentals/installation/testing, computer/networking fundamentals, analog/digital services and AC/DC fundamentals. Familiarity with the following equipment necessary: Channel banks, CSU's, Key Systems/PBX's, T1/DS0 Pots test sets and LAN/WAN equipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Install, test and repair FDN products in a central office, collaction or customer premise site.
·Develop relationship with all customers within area of responsibility.
· Establish communications with various departments as required assuring that FDN products are installed, testing and repaired in a timely/efficient manner while adhering to company standards and customer expectations.
·Conducts analysis and repair on reported troubles, while adhering to all methods and procedures and assuring service quality is maintained.
·Adheres to an effective safety program for their area of responsibility.
-Participates with on-call duty programs and be available for after hour and week-end service dispatches.
·The position reports to the Operations Manager for day-to-day directions. Frequent interaction with the Customers, NOC , Service Delivery, Trouble Test Desk, Customer Service Departments, ILEC Central office and field technicians Therefore, this position is an important link in providing quality service thus requiring a person with significant qualifications and high inner work standard
JOB SKILLS REQUIRED:
-Multitasking
-Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and IP/Ethernet Fundamentals and networking
·Ability to use test equipment to test FDN products. T1/T3, Pots, DSL, Data, ATM, VOM
·Strong analytical and communications skills together with a "self-starter" professional business approach.
·Ability to distinguish colors on small wires
·Ability to use a ladder and work in confined spaces such as attics and closets
·Working knowledge of RIO preferred but not required
·Ability to work in small and confined spaces.
·Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
·Ability to track and maintain company assets such as CPE, network spares, test equipment and tools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·1 - 5 years technical experience in the telecommunications and/or data networking industry. An Associates degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Data and/or Business is preferred but not necessary depending on experience.
·Key System and PBX knowledge helpful but not necessary..
·Rio experience helpful but not necessary
-Clean driving history
·Performs other duties as required/assigned
