E&I Bases and Tech Advisor Sq

I've been retired since 94 and I'm curious if any more E&I units Conus and overseas active duty that do a lot of TDY's! Also, I was a
ANG Air Force Tech Advisor at Hayward Airport, CA (216EIS) 1818RAS OL-J 89-94, are they still exist in the AF inventory? I was a cable for 1830 Cape Kennedy,1837 Tachikawa/Yokota, 1849 McClellan, Det 1 1837 Clark AB, 485 (twice) Griffiss) Comm Cable CCK,Taiwan, Osan and Taegu, LOTS OF TDY'S. I know there's a lot of retired cable antenna buddies out there who are doing almost identical career field in the Air Force in the civilian life, I decided to change career and went to healthcare through GI Bill!

For new cable/antenna people, volunteer for overseas and go tdy!

tanojr, how's it going?

Number of EI units OCONUS: Zero
Number of Active EI units still alive and kicking: 1
Number of ANG EI units still alive and kicking: 16 (216EIS CAANG, 218EIS MOANG, 272EIS TXANG gone)

We still do a lot in the AOR and CONUS/OCONUS TDYs, but we're a skeleton of our former self. Pretty sad, actually.

I can't get into the actual OCONUS actions in the AOR (opsec/comsec), but we're still delivering big and doing 'good things'. Thanks for your service and (by your resume) your outstanding duty within our EI ranks!! I wish you well.

Markel, out...

Hey Tony. Just read your post. Don't know if you've heard but the 216th is closing it's doors on the 30 Sep 07.
Big shindig planned at the base on 9/8 at Noon. Hoping for a big turnout of the old timers.
Hope you can make it.

Ken
