Network Engineer - CCVP - CISCO Voice - Colorado

The client has a need to add a Sr. Cisco VoIP Engineer to their team. In this role the successful incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the planning and design of the overall VoIP and Connectivity network all the way through implementation. This is a full-time position, but will be a consultative role. The incumbent sets goals, monitors work and evaluates the results to ensure objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the organization. The primary focus of this position is to implement and support CISCO VoIP installations, but also is tasked with general network support and build-outs including security and firewall, route/switch, wireless and other network-related duties.
This key Senior Network Engineer position will leverage a well rounded background in routing and switching with Cisco technology and with a strong emphasis in VoIP telephony, including experience with PBX systems.
This position will challenge an in-depth expertise in VoIP protocols and their application in Small to large enterprise environments.
The successful candidate will join a staff of talented Engineers that support voice and data networks across the country and will serve as a VoIP expert providing consulting and solutions across various groups. The Sr. Engineer will articulate opinions on matters impacting VoIP and consider the impact on other areas in the company.
Preferred Qualifications:
4 Years working experience with Cisco VoIP IPCC, Unity and CallManager environment
5 years working with Telecommunications vendors
10 years in the networking/telecomm industry
5 years experience evaluating and recommending Voice networking Solutions
Proficient in all aspects of network engineering: design, implementation, monitoring and troubleshooting
Willing to follow assigned projects through to successful completion
University Degree or equivalent experience
Team Player
Previous telecom experience in a similar capacity maintaining a service providers network preferred
Extensive experience with Cisco routers, switches (LAN and WAN) required
Additional expertise with VoIP gateways, SS7 controllers, and BTS softswitch preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, telecom circuits from DS-O through OC-3
Broad Knowledge of IP telephony (VoIP/VoN), softswitches, PSTN gateways, SS7, QoS, SIP, H.323, and MGCP over a range of broadband mediums
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Experience writing OA&M documentation
Project Management skills
Customer Service skills
In-depth knowledge of Cisco CallManager, IPCC and Unity products
Knowledge of Data Networking concepts with concentration in IP traffic flow Experience in the traditional telephone platforms such as Nortel PBX and Avaya Octel is a plus
