Telecommunications Engineer-Crystal City, VA

Telecommunications Engineer assigned to this position will plan, implement, deliver, and maintain Voice Switching Systems (VSS) technology systems to satisfy customer requirements and operational necessities utilizing a vast array of voice communications solutions. Telecommunications Engineer will assist in the design, acquisition, operations, technical acceptance, installation, testing, modification, and replacement of VSS equipment and associated software. Telecommunications Engineer will be responsible for conducting on site surveys, document reviews and developing voice network topology drawings. Telecommunications Engineer will assist the Telecommunications Project Manager with project design, integration and implementation of all telecommunications projects.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
• Understanding of Air Force and ANG network, architecture polices and processes.
• Minimum of 10 years related work experience commensurate with tasks outlined in this document.
• Experienced in deploying, installing , repairing and sustaining fixed enterprise Voice Switching Systems (VSS) networks, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Voice Protection System (VPS), Telecommunications Management System (TMS), electronic key and intercom systems, copper core and/or fiber-optic wiring, infrastructure, and all associated subsets, data transmission media circuits (switched and non-switched), intra-building wiring, T-carrier, fiber-optic end equipment, modems, multiplexers, and associated hardware.
• Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance (IA) Policy and IA Certification and Accreditation (C&A)
• Experience with coordinating Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) circuit activations.
• Experience in developing technical solutions to support VSS equipment installation along with developing and maintaining the integration acquisition plan to include lifecycle replacements.
• DOD Secret Clearance required
