The passing of a good friend Donald Griffith

BEDFORD -- Donald D. Griffith, 48, a retired U.S. Air Force technical sergeant, passed away Saturday November 8, 2008 at a Dallas hospital.
Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Donald Dean Griffith was born January 25, 1960 in Volga, South Dakota. to Delbert Jr. and Rose Quam Griffith. He attended school at Badger, Watertown, and Arlington South Dakota before graduating from Enid High School in Enid, Oklahoma in 1978. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 20 years before retiring in 1998. During his military career he was stationed in many different countries and received many honors and medals.
Survivors: Children: Kevin Cayannan and Karen Cayannan both of Rogers, Ark.; father, Delbert Griffith, Jr. of Arlington, S.D.; grandmother, Venita Quam of Watertown, SD; step-father, Edward Haughton and wife Tippie of Mountain Home, Ark.; sisters, Deb Palo of Watertown, SD, Dawn Johnson of DeSmet, SD, Dena Edwards and husband Dan of North Sioux City SD; brother, Dennis Griffith of Tampa, Fla.; step-brothers, Albert Haughton, and Mike Haughton both of Garber, Okla.; step-sisters, Susie Stewart and husband Tyler of Kremlin, Okla. and Rhonda Haughton of Hayti, SD; many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles and friends.

I worked with Don in the 6968 EIS/HQ AIA ISG. Don was Don till the end. His veiw on his illness was like Erma Bombeck's sometimes you're in the pits not the cherries. I'll miss talking with him. Harold Taffner Friend and Comrade.
