I have to say I'm sorry to see the Wire Dawg coin going up for sale on this site or any other retail venue. The coin had almost fallen by the wayside until it was revived back in the mid 90s in Korea. There is to be a "keeper of the coin" and it is supposed to be something that is "bestowed" . It is by far given away too freely. Does all this really matter? Not really....except that I felt the coin made you a part of something you had to earn by what you did...for the mission.

Just want to make sure you understand; We're providing coins as a source for those people who earned it or are awarding the coin to deserving dawgs.
It's up to the wiredawg community to ensure it's sanctity and keep it at a respectful level.
Maybe the canons of the coin should be reviewed by a panel of Top Three NCO's and updated to reflect concerns of abuse.
I'm willing to collate the data, set up any surveys, etc.. if any senior NCO's want to volunteer to head up a committee to study this issue. Just let me know.

Back in the day E&I teams spent many a moon on the road and very seldom ever got the recognition we deserved for the countless hours we spent busting our humps "for the mission". I along with many of my brothers have spent days hours hanging off of towers all over Europe, America, and South West Asia in support of the U.S.Air Force and it's mission with only a few accolades. The chance to buy a WIRE DAWG coin is one I will take and hope others will in keeping with our esprit de corps. Thank you and Buona Fortuna
