Screwed Up AFSC

Just wondering, did anyone get shafted with their AFSC? I was set for transport systems (worked it out with the FM and Sup) and I got client systems...hilarious. I put on MSgt next year, so it's not a big deal for me, but for those younger guys that are awesome at the job (voice switchers, VoIP, IP routing and switching, etc) and deserve transport, but get client sys...BS!!!!!

Ya a lot of people here got shafted but our leadership fixed it and got the chief to have our AFSC changed properly, so i guess we have some good higher ups here.

I got shafted as well. 9 year wire dawg, now a 3D1X1. What can I say, its the freaking 3rd Herd out at Tinker.

My Job description: Laptops!!

Thats it!! How gay is that? When I spoke to leadership, it was pretty much...."suck it up"

Nice! The only upside to all of this is that it opens up a lot of positions around the world.

Well I am currently at JCSE not doing my job in the first place so its not going to be completely a shocker. I guess I am going to just try and stay in special duty assignments.

Sounds like most job descriptions now start: "place hands on ankles...."

I just barely learned my job, and earned my dawg coin. Just so they could tear it all away from me and throw me into this horrible carreer field "client systems." I also get the luxury of doing this at Ramstein where I have all these officers complaining about their blackberries. :( Its good that I will take the knowledge that they are gonna teach me, but Ive already decided to cross-train into something way better!

Well, everyone can point the finger at 2 things...1991 when they downgraded AFCC to AFCA and 1995 when leadership combined Inside and Outside Plant into Telephone Systems. I was teaching EP at Lackland AFB at the time and told Chief Peters, the AF Comm Functional Manager that Outside and Cable should've have combined.....maybe then it wouldn't be in this big of mess. But nobody listens to SSgt instructors! WIREDAWG, RETIRED.......
