Network Infrastructure Specialist
Location: Afghanistan
Our client is a widely know contractor that has extensive experience providing contract labor in the Middle East. These positions are currently in proposal phase and applicants will be contacted once contract is awarded.

* (35) Network Infrastructure Specialists.
Job Description:
The Network Infrastructure Specialist shall be responsible for the installation of any and all commercial or tactical communications as prioritized by the CJ6 and/or COR. The Network Infrastructure Specialist shall work with the Projects Officers, the CJ6, the COR or any designee of the CJ6 while installing commercial and/or tactical communications throughout the CJOA. This support includes, but is not limited to participation in planning and execution of immediate and long-term projects, network expansion and integration with other networks throughout the CJOA. The Network Infrastructure Specialist shall support the installation and maintenance of wiring, including, but not limited to copper (network and telephony), coax cabling and fiber optic cabling inside and outside of buildings within the supported location, and outside plant wiring between supported FOB buildings within the service area of TCFs, ADNs, and/or CPNs. For some of this work, the Network Infrastructure Specialist shall be required to work and/or coordinate with other military and civilian agencies or groups to contribute to the successful completion of larger tasks. The Network Infrastructure Specialist must have an extensive background in commercial wiring, to include copper, fiber, and coax. The Network Infrastructure Specialist must possess knowledge of standard color codes for said cabling. The Network Infrastructure Specialist must know how to pull, terminate, patch, and splice said cabling. This will include, but not be limited to, indoor and outdoor types of cable. The Network Infrastructure Specialist shall have extensive knowledge in direct burial cable and manhole and ducting systems and have a working knowledge of Installation, Information, Infrastructure Modernization Program (I3MP) standards.
Additional Details:
OBJECTIVE
* Provide a team with the skills and abilities identified to work at assigned locations from approximately 0800 to 2000 hours daily, Monday to Sunday, including holidays with due compensation for a meal.
* Exact daily hours may vary based on mission requirements with the government reserving the right to surge or slow work effort based on mission needs.
* Overtime pay is not authorized.
* Because of the unique operational environment some weeks will require more hours than others.
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE
* BASIC PERIOD: 12 months
* OPTION PERIOD 1: Additional Service Year
* OPTION PERIOD 2: Additional Service Year
LEAVE AND REST AND RELAXATION (R&R)
* Contracted employees will be allowed a total of four weeks of time away from Afghanistan, to be divided between leave and R&R as agreed upon with the COR and as allowed by operational requirements.
* The on-site contractor manager will coordinate with the SMEs to ensure minimal overlap is experienced as a result of personnel taking leave or R&R.
* It will be expected that the employee utilize commercial air to and from his/her R&R location.
* Travel, per diem, and lodging associated with leave and R&R will not be charged to the government.
REQUIRED ITEMS
* Employees must obtain and maintain at minimum a SECRET security clearance. Contractor must coordinate with COR to acquire necessary clearance.
* Employee must complete CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) training in Ft. Benning, GA,
https://www.infantry.army.mil/CRC/, prior to deployment.
* The contractor will be responsible for coordinating and arranging to attend CRC training prior to initial travel to Afghanistan as is necessary to comply with the period of performance stated in the contract.
1.9. WORK CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
* Harsh Environment: Contractor personnel must be willing to live and work in an area designated by the U.S. government as an imminent danger zone or hostile fire zone.
* Standards of Conduct: Contractor personnel must adhere to standards of conduct as established by the operational or unit commander to include General Order #1.
* Physical Security: Contractor personnel are required to practice Operational Security (OPSEC).
* Contractor personnel must not discuss classified information outside of the work place.
* Personal Appearance: Personnel working under this contract shall present a professional appearance commensurate with standards delineated for government civilian/military personnel acting in similar capacities in accordance with CJTF-82 (CJTF-101/10/76) Standards dated 3 JUN 2009.
* Clothing shall be kept clean and neat (i.e. no debris, dirt, mud, stains, rips, tears or holes) as practicable considering work conditions.
MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS
* The Contractor shall ensure that all on-site personnel under this contract have the required vaccinations or immunizations as required at their assigned work area(s) in Afghanistan.
* Personnel processing through the CRC at Ft. Benning, GA will be provided with the necessary vaccinations.
* It is the Contractor's responsibility to obtain and maintain a current list of vaccinations required for local national employees and other employees not deploying through the CRC for each Area of Operations.
* This list can normally be obtained from the military medical facility in the AO.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
* Travel by military transportation on official business is authorized by DoD Reg 4515-13-R, November 1994, Para C2.1.1, and Para C2.2.9.3.
