Air Force Global Strike Command

Supposedly there are around 30 Wire/Cable guys heading out to Barksdale at months end including myself. Anybody got any info on what we'll be doing, the area or atleast know anybody that is going there? Any info would be great. Thanks

Well I am currently at the Cable shop here at Barksdale. Are you Cable or wire that will help me tell you what your in for. They just changed cable and wire's job all around here. You could be working under Global Strike so you may not be in either Shop here at the 2CS.

I am in the phone shop or CST now. Are you going to be TDY or PCSing? either way there is a lot of work to do here. email me at my government email. I can tell you more there.

There's 4 of us from WP (2 wire, 2 cable) heading down for the Global strike command build-up. There's a little information out there and I just want to know what we're getting into

The recent equal returnee had 2 MSgt spots at WP for 3D1X1. Are any of them in the phone shop?

There are currently 4 MSgt here now. I guess there is room for more. But the CST is phones/CSA/CFP all combined here. as far as work lets just say AFGSC keeps us real busy. if you have more question email me or call the telephone shop at Barksdale. I can say more there.

I was just assigned as the NCOIC for the Cable Mx here at Barksdale last week; I'm excited to be back over the Dawg Pound after being in SCX since I PCS'd here. We'll definitely keep the augmented personnel busy trying to keep up with the additional workload that comes with setting up a new command.

I heard there was another MSgt 3D177 coming here from Japan (MSgt Kidd) which was based with me at Langley and The Netherlands. I know there's 3-4 SNCOs retiring within the next few months so they're planning ahead for the openings I'm sure.

So hows it going at Barksdale? What did you guys end up doing? Did you re-wire all the trailers that they put in or was it something else?
