Retired SSGT Ronald "Red" Derscheid

Red passed away on March 20th, 2010. He is greatly missed by me, his wife, as I'm sure he will be missed by others. Everyone who knew him remembers him for his sense of humor.

I knew Red from Clark AFB and he was a good friend and layed back guy in those days.
It was my privaledge to see him again and met Linda at the 2009 GEEIA/MDM/EI Reunion at Oklahoma City last year.
Everyone seemed to know him and we had a great time telling old stories. It was sad to see his health was bad and cancer was taking him down. That didn't stop him from having a good time.

I knew Red from Hill AFB,from around'63-'66. I had the privilege to go TDY with him several times. Thgough the years,I have often told my friends about him. His softball pitching and humor is almost legendary!! He will be missed by all who knew him.Bert Peterson.
