CMSGT George Ferguson

George died on 27 June. A good friend and teacher. I first met him in 1966 at Brookley AFB, Mobile, AL in the 2863rd GEEIA Squadron. He was a QA Evaluator. We called him whistleing George. Rest in peace George

I met the Chief in the early 70s while in the 1839th. We’d run across each other a few times over the years, and it was always a pleasure seeing him. He was my immediate supervisor at the 1839th when I retired in 1994. All of his Flight Chiefs, Team Chiefs, and Team Members had the upmost respect for George. A superior supervisor, and an all-around good guy. He will be missed.

I worked for the Chief at the 1839th EIG where I learned a great deal about the Air Force and life from him. He was a mentor, leader and true friend. While I worked for the Chief, he was inventing a hanger for his blazers and kilts and he gave me one of the early models. I will treasure it always. May you rest in peace my friend.

George was a crew chief at Hill Field--2870th GEEIA--Back in '62--66 or so---Good mentor--R.I.P. George---B.P.
