I was in the 1839 Cable and Antenna shop from 1986-1989.I remember partying with you and some of the other guys on TDY and at the barracks -Greg Bannerman, Dan Stover, Phil Pope, Greg Woodward, Steve Krause, Mike DeBord, Mike Johnson, Sharron Haney and Val Gorick to name a few. You were a splicer, right?

I was in the Cable shop from 74 to 77. PY, Carey Amos, Red Lind, Frenchie, Bill Bruster, Billy Hamel, worked with a lot of the civilians. Chief Otto Reister "By God , That's vat hurts" Anyone who listened to his life story remembered it forever.

I was there from Jan 90-Mar 07. I remember PY, he had some stories. I remember if there was good BS going on while he was taking the status report from the TC in the field he would put the phone down and join in the BS. Then someone would remind him he was on the phone. How goes it Larry?

I was there from Sep 76 - Sep 81.

John - I remember your name and think we even worked a job together when you were still a GI.

Larry- I worked a job over at Tyndall in the winter of 77-78. Frenchie was the TC and Billy Hamel was one of the crew chiefs. When were doing a messy section throw, Billy Hamel used to always tell me "Just keep going. If it'll touch, it'll talk". When we first met, he used to razz me (in his best Mississippi drawl) about being from "Mastatooschetts".

What's up Kenny? hear from Dave? He was here for awhile then moved on to Nellis. I'm still at WPAFB doing that cable thing. Forgot to mention something about the 1839 post...." Cable..Mitchner" " Did you bring your tools?...Then why the hell did you come to work?"

I was there from Jan '74-Oct '75. I remember PY, Billy Hamel, Otto and Frenchie. There was nothing like getting home just long enough to pack a fresh bag and pick up your next set of orders. Spent most of my time at Maxwell and Gunter but did get the chance to see Edwards and Kirtland.

I was there in the 1839th from 1976 to 1979. Was OL site chief at Eglin, Vandenberg and Barksdale for most of my time there. What ever happened to PY, Billy Hamil, Harry Niece, Amos and the whole civilian splicer group.

I left there and went to Germany... Hahn Air Base.

Howdy folks,

I went to work for PY when I reported to the 1839th from the 2140th in March 77. In June 77 I was off to Altus, then Barksdale, King Salmon, Shemya, Eglin, back to Altus, Carswell, back to Barksdale with Joe Gayton, Maxwell, and Dyess. I got the shits of all the travel and went to teach splicing tech school at Sheppard until February 85 when I reported in to the 1849th at McClellan. I had the pleasure of checking in with Mike (our elusive web master) at Hill on a site visit in April 87.

My favorite PY memory is when he came up to Maxwell on a site visit and we chated over a few rounds in the bars downtown.

Now, I'm back on the road chasing disaters with FEMAwith less tha two years till I have another twenty to retire. The life in 1838th, 1827th, 1839th and 1849 were the best. They don't make teams like that anymore!

Be careful out there!
