The "Lik" was a true CAT team!!

I was a member of one the best darn CAT teams in the whole Republic of Turkey!! 1985-1988 at Incirlik AB. Boy did we have some awesome times. This was all "pre war" times and boy was it a great place to be. The beaches were probably one of the best highlights of the whole tour. At that time there were no restrictions to the base as I'm sure there are now. The alley was an great place just to go hang out and have a few brews (on the carpet venders and other merchants down there)Some of the best times was driving around the Republic to the various Air Stations that were joint American/Turkish bases. We had some wild road trips. I remember one that we took up the coast to Izmir and then up to Istanbul. That was back in the day when they gave flat rate per diem and you didnt have to give any reciepts. We were gone for 30 days at $100.00 per day. In Turkey you could live on 20 bucks a day and still be living well. I could sit here and ramble for days but I won't bore you. Hers a few guys that may remember these times: Bill Yates, Bill Lee, Micheal Bruseau. If you know of these guys let know that " Swami" says hey!!

And you always knew when Swami was in the area as dirt and debris would start caving in on your head when he neared the splice pit. Hi Swami................

No kidding....one awesome tour! I was there from 87-89...antenna troop! If I remember right...Dagenheart was the chief, Crow, Gordy, Fisher, Steve McCauley, Greg & Pam Lunsford, Curt, Frog, Bill Yates, Bob Souders, Pat, Dixon and "BLUE" of course...and the countless others that are escaping my memory! I remember a lot of fights in the NCO Club, none were our fault of course! Good times...and great people!
