MSgt Dick Stowell

Dick Stowell passed away on 8 September 2005 in Birmingham, AL. Appearently he had been admitted to the hospital where he lived in Biloxi before hurricane Katrina and was evacuated to Birmingham when it hit. He died on Thursday the 8th in Birmingham. Dick was a good friend and mentor to a lot of people so please pass along this to anyone you know how to get in touch with.

It's been quite awhile since I've visited the site. Wanda, I must say I'm very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was a mentor to many of us in many ways.

Wanda,

A belated apology regarding Dick's passing. We all heard about the news that he was sick before Katrina hit and everyone tried to keep up during and after Katrina hit. I remember calling redcross and finally tracking Dick to Birmingham only to get sad news the following day that he had passed. Last time I saw you guys was at E&I reunion about six years ago. Dick was the TC on my very first project down in Antigua. He was a great inspiration as a leader, a true legend in our field and I will truly miss him. I worked on a few other projects as well during my time at Keesler in 86-87...and the memories and stories are endless! I am sure this has been a difficult time and want you to know we all love and miss you and hope for nothing but the best! Dick will always be missed and he'll be in our memories forever!

I just heard about Dave Taylor this morning...and it seems like only yesterday we lost Dick...sad times as we have lost yet another great one....

I remember him didn't have the opportunity to work with him other than in the same units. May God be with you in your loss. Every one will remember the good thing.
